Alerting Employees Affected by a Data Breach

Collective or individual notifications

The breaches table detected by Arsen lists all compromised data associated with your organization’s domains.

From this table, an administrator can notify affected employees to inform them about their data exposure and recommend necessary actions (password update, increased vigilance, etc.).


1 – Objectives

This article explains how to:

  • notify employees affected by a breach detected through the Threat Monitoring module

  • send a notification to all affected employees or to a selected group

  • use integrated tools (drawer, preview, visual confirmation) to efficiently inform employees


2 – Prerequisites

  • Activate the Threat Monitoring module

  • Have administrator access (Admin role)

  • Have at least one detected breach listed under the Breaches tab


3 – Accessing the data breach overview

In the Threat Monitoring section:

Click Breaches

The table displays all detected breaches, sorted by domain and type of data.

4 – Notifying all employees affected by a breach

4.1 – Open the breach details

  • Click the arrow on the right side of the breach row,

  • and open the drawer displaying breach details

4.2 – Select all affected employees

  • Check the multi-select checkbox to select all impacted users

  • Click Send Notification

4.3 – Prepare and send the notification

  • Enter a message in the pop-up window.

  • Click Preview to receive a preview email in your inbox

4.4 – Check the notification confirmation

Once the notification is sent:

  • A green double-check icon appears in the table

  • This confirms that all affected employees have been successfully notified

5 – Notifying an individual employee or a group

5.1 – Open the breach details

  • Click the arrow on the right side of the row,

  • and open the drawer displaying breach information

5.2 – Select only specific employees

  • Check the box next to each employee you want to notify

  • Click Send Notification

5.3 – Write and send the notification

  • Write the email message in the pop-up

  • Click Send

5.4 – Check the notification confirmation

Once the notification is sent:

  • A white single-check icon appears in the table

  • It indicates that some, but not all, affected employees have been notified
