Arsen’s awareness training solution allows organizations to structure and distribute an awareness program composed of educational lessons, helping employees develop the right cybersecurity habits and reflexes.
1 – Objectives
The purpose of this article is to explain:
how to select and organize the courses in the core learning path.
how to add a lesson to the core learning path.
how lesson scheduling works after adding a lesson to a group of employees.
2 – Prerequisites
Have the necessary permissions to access the Awareness Training section.
Have the required permissions to configure the program (Admin).
3 – Creating the Program in Awareness Training
To begin:
Click on Overview in the main menu.
Click on
Get Started.
Follow the program creation steps, detailed here.
4 – Organize and Modify the Awareness Training Program
4.1 – Organize Program Lessons
To access the program lessons, click on Program from the main menu in the Awareness Training section.
To modify the lesson delivery order, two options are available:
use the arrows to move a lesson up or down relative to the others.
drag and drop a course between two others.
4.2 – Remove a Course from the List
The onboarding steps allow you to select the courses that will make up the core learning path. However, for various reasons, it may become necessary to remove a course after the program has been created.
Click on the row corresponding to the lesson you want to remove from your program.
Click on
Unassign lesson.
5 – Add a Lesson to the Core Learning Path
To add a lesson to the core learning path, click on + Assign lesson.
5.1 – Choose the Delivery Mode
After clicking on + Assign lesson, a side panel appears.
To add a course to the core learning path, choose Learning Path.
The other option (Triggered Assignment) allows a lesson to be sent based on a triggering event outside the general program schedule.
After selecting Learning Path, click on Continue.
5.2 – Choose the Lesson to Add to the Core Learning Path
Select the lesson to add to the program by clicking on Continue on the corresponding course row.
📚 Note: You can always test the course rendering by clicking on Preview on the corresponding course row.
5.3 – Choose the Audience
The final step consists of selecting the employee group that will receive the lesson. Two mutually exclusive options are available:
Assign the lesson to all employees.
Assign the lesson to one or more employee groups.
6 – Modify a Lesson Audience
By default, a lesson audience is set to all employees (All Employees). However, the topic covered may only be relevant to a specific role within the company.
The goal is therefore to modify the lesson audience.
To modify the list of employees who will have access to a lesson, click on Manage from the Assign to section.
Then choose the audience exactly as described in the previous section.
7 – Understanding Lesson Delivery Order
7.1 – General Principle
The Learning Path allows lessons to be delivered to all employees within a company.
These lessons form a shared training foundation designed to guarantee a minimum awareness baseline and meet company compliance requirements.
The Arsen administrator can define the lesson delivery frequency in the program settings.
Three frequencies are available:
Weekly
Every two weeks
Monthly
7.2 – Differentiated Learning Paths
Arsen’s Awareness Training module allows the creation of differentiated learning paths based on employee profiles.
Certain criteria may trigger the assignment of specific lessons to a particular user group.
As a result, both the delivered content and the delivery pace may vary from one employee to another.
⚠️ Important point to understand
Differentiated learning paths do not allow the creation of multiple independent programs running in parallel.
The system always relies on a shared core learning path for all employees:
core lessons are delivered to everyone;
no lesson replaces another;
specific lessons are simply inserted into the learning path of certain users.
The program organization must therefore be understood at an individual level: each employee follows a path adapted to their situation while still keeping the shared core learning path defined by the company.
The administrator only manages the global program rules.
The remaining scheduling is automatically handled by the platform.
7.2.1 – Differences in the Number of Courses
Some employees may receive more courses than others depending on their exposure to risk or their role.
For example, certain topics may be particularly important for:
the accounting team;
procurement teams;
administrative or financial departments.
It is therefore possible to assign specific lessons to certain user groups.
Practical consequence:
When a course is assigned to a specific group:
it is added to that group’s learning path;
it is inserted between the core learning path lessons;
but the concerned users still continue to follow the entire shared core learning path.
Example:
Learning path followed by accounting group members:
Learning path followed by other employees:
7.2.2 – Differences Related to Course Completion Tracking
The delivery schedule may also vary depending on employee participation, meaning their ability to follow and complete assigned courses.
Case #1: The Course Is Completed Quickly
When an employee completes a course within the expected timeframe, the next course is sent normally according to the configured frequency:
weekly;
every two weeks;
or monthly.
Case #2: The Course Is Not Completed
When an employee does not complete a course, the delivery of the next course is postponed.
The next course will be sent:
either when the current course is completed;
or when the current course is considered expired.
