Microsoft Users Sync Integration

The Microsoft Users Sync integration allows you to import your collaborators into Arsen.


This native integration eliminates manual provisioning and ensures your employee list is always up to date and securely synchronized.

1 – Objectives

The goal of this procedure is to automatically synchronize employee profiles from Microsoft Entra ID into Arsen through the Microsoft Users Sync integration.

This allows you to:

  • Avoid manual CSV imports

  • Keep your employee list continuously updated when changes occur in Entra ID

  • Ensure all Arsen features rely on accurate, real-time data

2 – Prerequisites

The only prerequisite is that the person performing the setup must be able to authorize the installation of a third-party application on the Microsoft 365 tenant.

To follow best practices, it is recommended to use:


3 – Locate the integration

When an Arsen account is created, the procedures are simplified. Click here to access them.

  • Click your company logo in the upper-right corner in Arsen

  • Click Integrations

  • The list of integrations appears. Click Microsoft Users Sync.

4 – Set up the integration

4.1 – Connect Entra ID and Arsen

  • Click the Install tab

  • Click Connect to Microsoft 365…

The page redirects to Microsoft 365 to approve the integration.
Click Accept to validate.

The integration is almost complete: Arsen is now connected to your Entra ID.

4.2 – Define which users will be synchronized

To access the synchronization options, click the three dots, then click Configure. This will expand the options.

Available synchronization options:

  • all users in the tenant

  • all users in a group named “arsen” previously created in Entra ID

  • users from one or several Entra groups, including nested groups

⚠️ Warning
Only active users are synchronized.

📚 Note
Nested groups (groups containing other groups) are supported.

  • Check the box next to I understand...

  • Click Save changes and sync users to start synchronization

The process may take a few minutes.

5 – Send instructions to activate the integration

Follow this step if:

  • you are not a Microsoft administrator

  • onboarding steps are already completed

To retrieve the link to share the instructions:

  • Click Settings

  • Click the Campaign Settings tab

  • In Phishing Simulations Whitelisting, click click here in the sentence:
    ​“To access the email whitelisting procedure, please click here.”

A window opens allowing you to generate a link.
The generated link is valid for 15 days.

You can then:

  • copy/paste the link into an email

  • send it to the Microsoft administrator

📚 Note
The shared link allows administrators to perform:

  • whitelisting operations

  • employee synchronization

6 - Synchronize another tenant with the Arsen account

If several tenants need to be synchronized in order to run joint awareness campaigns across multiple entities, click on :

  1. Settings

  2. Integrations

  3. Microsoft Users Sync

  4. Directories


Then click on Connect a New Entra tenant and follow the process described above.

7 – Uninstall the Microsoft Users Sync application

  • Click your company logo in the upper-right corner

  • Click Integrations

  • Click Microsoft Users Sync

  • Click the Directories tab

  • Click the three dots

  • Click Disconnect
